1、 Pulling and drawing of solid cross-section products
Pulling solid section billets into various specifications and shapes of wire. The process of drawing round section wire is the simplest, known as the simple drawing process.
2、 Drawing of hollow section products
Draw pipes of various specifications and shapes from hollow section blanks. There are several basic methods for pipe drawing.
(1) When pulling a hollow tube without a core, no core head is placed inside the tube blank. After passing through the mold, the outer diameter is reduced, and the tube wall generally changes slightly.
(2) The long core rod is inserted into the tube during the drawing process, and during the stretching process, the core rod passes through the mold along with the arm blank to achieve diameter reduction and wall reduction.
(3) The short core head drawing method is most widely used in pipe drawing. During the drawing process, the core rod with a short core head is fixed, and the tube blank is reduced in diameter and wall through the mold hole.
(4) The force balance established by the unique shape of the core head during the pulling process stabilizes it in the deformation zone and forms a certain size of annular gap with the transverse hole. This method is more advanced and very suitable for small tubes that are longer and can be rolled up.
(5) The top pipe method involves inserting the core sleeve into the bottom of the pipe blank, and during operation, the pipe blank and core rod are pushed out of the mold hole together to process the outer and inner diameter dimensions of the pipe blank.
(6) After the expansion method, the diameter of the pipe blank increases while the wall thickness and length decrease. This method is used for producing large-diameter pipes from small-diameter billets to relieve the constraint of inability to produce large-diameter billets.
The drawing process is generally carried out in a cold state, but for some metal materials with high strength and poor plasticity at room temperature, such as certain steel grades and coatings, molybdenum, tungsten, etc., warm or hot drawing is used.
